Sillier than the first one, which is saying something. Seemed too much when originally came out, but liked on second viewing with daughter.

Slow sweep over snowy models; one of best pre-title openings ever. Unfairly regarded as cold, stylish misfire, you either love or are wrong.

Mostly enjoyable mashup of cranky novelist movies plays it safe, which is too bad, because it has good bones. Probably had good early draft.

So much fun. Cagney has a blast chewing scenery in old Hollywood classic. Snappy dialogue up to standards of Curtiz’s best – high praise…
